FreshWater Start Up Guide

Here is a step-by-step guide to setting up your new Freshwater Salt System. Freshwater startup is easy, soon, you’ll be saying ahhhhh…..

Step #1:

  • Fill the hot tub with water (Make sure the power to your tub is off)

– Fill through the filter standpipe (filter with the grey cap)

    • If you have metals in your water use the Pre-Screen filter

– Use soft water or Add a Vanishing Act Pillow

    • Highlife Models – Place pillow over the drain (you can leave on for 48 hours)
    • Limelight Models – Place pillow tightly up against the suction fitting with the jets on high for 2-4 hours)
  • Add 6-10 oz Stain & Scale Control (this can be done while the tub is filling)
  • Add ¼ cup Chlorine Concentrate (do this for the next 3 days)

Step #2:

  • Turn on breaker
  • Verify Water Temperature Has Reached 90° F
  • Balance Your Water

– For new hot tub deliveries, we will contact you with water test results & instructions

– For drain and refills utilize a 5-way test strip

    • Total Alkalinity = 80 to 120 ppm
    • pH = 7.2 to 7.6
    • Calcium Hardness = below 75 ppm

– Or you can bring in a water sample & we’ll test it for you!

Step #3:

  • Start Your FreshWater Salt System
  • Add Proper Amount of FreshWater Salt

– Start with 3 Cups & add ½ Cup at a time until the salt system states “Functioning” or “Okay”

Step #4:

  • Install the new FreshWater Silver Ion Cartridge

 

Freshwater system

Weekly:

  • Balance Your Water

– Utilize a 5-way test strip

    • Total Alkalinity = 80 to 120 ppm
    • pH = 7.2 to 7.6
    • Calcium Hardness = below 75 ppm
  • – Or you can bring in a water sample & we’ll test it for you!
  • Shock Your Water Using Spa Shock Oxidizer
  • Add Maintenance Dose, 2-3 oz, of Stain & Scale Control
  • Confirm Your Output Level Every 10 days

Monthly:

  • Chemically Clean Your Filters Using Fresh Water Filter Cleaner

Every 3rd to 4th Month:

  • Replace Your FreshWater Salt Cartridge
  • Replace Your FreshWater Silver Ion Cartridge

Once or Twice Per Year:

  • Drain, Clean, and Refill Your Hot Tub
